Treat Acne With Ancient Chinese Medicine

Impure skin can be very stressful for those affected. After all, our ideal of beauty promotes flawless and smooth skin. The causes of papules, pustules, and comedones vary greatly: One of the most common causes of impure skin is hormones. If the body releases too many male hormones, for example under stress, during hormonal changes etc., more impurities occur. If the skin’s protective barrier is not perfectly intact, this can be a cause of impure skin. This makes the skin more susceptible to pathogenic bacteria, environmental dirt and external influences such as wind and weather. Medication, disease symptoms, and cigarette and alcohol consumption may be additional factors. The extent to which diet has an effect on the emergence of impurities is still disputed.

According to Chinese medicine, a connection can be established between our organs and the skin areas affected by impurities: It can prove particularly interesting to identify possible “problem sources” based on “face scanning”:

Zone 1 & 3: Digestive system
Problems with the digestive system and/or bladder are predominantly manifested on the forehead. In addition, hair care products can cause irritation and encourage impure skin in these areas.

Zone 2: Liver
Too much alcohol can be manifested in impure skin and spots in the area between the eyes and eyebrows. In addition, spots and other impurities in this area are a possible indicator of food intolerances such as lactose intolerance or a reaction to gluten.

Zone 4, 6, 8 & 10: Kidneys
The ears are directly related to the kidneys. The areas around the eyes can also indicate kidney problems.

Zone 7: Heart
Redness on the nose can indicate problems with the heart, for example high blood pressure. An unbalanced diet or a vitamin B deficiency can also encourage impure skin around the nose.

Zone 5 & 9: Lungs
The cheeks reflect our respiratory system. Smokers and allergy sufferers in particular may develop impure skin and several small veins here.

Zone 11 & 13: Hormones
Spots around the mouth could indicate a hormonal change, but may also be a sign of stress.

Zone 12: Stomach
Zone 12 refers to the chin and has a direct connection to the stomach.

Zone 14: Stress & illness
The last zone around the neck is often neglected. But according to traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), spots and redness naturally have a meaning here, too: This is possibly the body fighting off bacterial pathogens. Excessive stress and perfumes can also lead to irritation.
