MICROBIOME COMPLEX An important component of the skin’s barrier function is the skin microbiome. Human skin is populated by a variety of microorganisms that form the so-called skin microbiome. The human being and his/her skin microbiome form a symbiosis: the human being needs the microbiome, and the microbiome needs the human being. Imbalances in the microbiome disrupt the natural barrier function and manifests itself in changes in the skin such as dry or sensitive skin.</p>

The microbiome complex consists of oligosaccharides obtained by enzymatic biocatalysts from plant substrates and Lactococcus Ferment Lysate, which are obtained biotechnologically with the help of a lactic acid-producing bacterium.  Both components belong to the group of prebiotics and serve as valuable nutrients for the microorganisms of the skin flora. They promote a healthy skin microbiome and thus contribute to strengthening and maintaining the health of the skin barrier.

Furthermore, it supports the formation of a closed, tightly connected network of keratinocytes (cell cohesion), an important step in epidermis formation. A good cohesion of the epidermal skin cells is essential for the barrier function of the skin. However, in the case of sensitive, stressed skin with impaired barrier function, reduced cell cohesion (cell cohesion) can often be observed. The prebiotic active ingredient thus specifically counteracts a weakened skin barrier. It stimulates skin renewal and restoration of the barrier. The epidermis becomes thicker, transepidermal water loss is reduced and the skin’s resistance improves.

PHA (GLUCONIC ACID) stands for poly hydroxy acids. Like the AHA acids, the PHA acids are a group of acids that can be used both in an exfoliating and nourishing way, depending on the chosen acid, pH and concentration.  In Hyper Sensitive 24h care, gluconic acid is used as a nourishing component.  PHA acids have several so-called hydroxy groups, hence the name poly hydroxy acids. Due to these hydroxy groups, PHA acids are excellent moisture storers and donors. Water molecules are magnetically attracted to hydroxy groups, attach themselves to them and form hydration shells around the hydroxy groups or the complete molecules. The more hydroxyl groups a molecule has, the more pronounced this effect is and the more water molecules a molecule can bind to itself. Therefore, gluconic acid helps replenish the skin’s moisture storage and improve the skin’s hydration.

DERMA MEMBRANE COMPLEX The DMC Complex is a unique, multifunctional blend of several components that resemble different ingredients and in their sum as a formulation are similar to the skin lipids of the extracellular matrix of the stratum corneum. Due to this structural similarity, the DMC Complex can not only maintain, nourish and strengthen the skin barrier and support its regeneration, but also facilitates penetration of active ingredients into the skin. In addition, it gives the formulation a uniquely velvety texture!

<p><strong>PANTHENOL</strong> is a provitamin that can be converted into vitamin B5. It is a soothing active ingredient that calms stressed skin, stabilizes the skin’s protective barrier and improves the skin’s moisture-binding capacity.

VALUABLE PLANT BASED LIPIDS Various vegetable oils and fats such as shea butter, evening primrose oil, avocado oil and squalane nourish the skin and have a moisturizing effect. The skin becomes smooth and supple.

SHEA BUTTER is extracted from the seeds of the fruits of the shea nut tree (Butyrospermum parkii). The seed is reminiscent of a horse chestnut and has 45-48 % fat. Shea butter is rich in stearic acid and oleic acid and is characterized by its special skin compatibility.

EVENING PRIMROSE OIL is the fatty oil extracted from the seeds of Oenothera biennis L. (common evening primrose) by pressing and subsequent refining. The evening primrose (Oenothera biennis) originates from North America, but is now widespread in Europe. Its name reminds us that its pale yellow flowers with their sweet scent only open at night from June to September. Gentle cold pressing protects the valuable fatty acids it contains, such as linoleic and linolenic acid, from the effects of intense heat.The rich oil nourishes and cares for the skin. It has a moisturizing effect, so that the skin becomes smooth and supple.

AVOCADO OIL is rich in palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid. It makes the skin soft and supple and relaxes it.

PLANT-BASED SQUALANE nourishes dry, flaky skin areas and has a smoothing effect on the skin structure.
